The Lifeguarding course provides participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide professional-level care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services (EMS) personnel take over.

American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Blended Learning includes: CPR/AED/First Aid/Lifeguarding

The Lifeguarding course provides participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide professional-level care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services (EMS) personnel take over.

Prerequisites: Minimum age of 15 by the last day of the class; must be able to swim 150 yards continuously, immediately tread water without hands for two minutes, swim another 50 yds* and retrieve a 10-lb brick in 9 ft of water. 

*MUST be able to show breath control with face IN the water and continuous movement in the water. No stopping or taking breaks.


There are 7 hours of Online learning that must be completed ahead of the in-person portion of the class. The link will be sent to your email ahead of the coursework with instructions on how to complete. This needs to be completed BEFORE the first in person class starts and will not be allowed to continue if it is incomplete.


Photo ID required for proof of age. Participants must attend all classes listed for the session; no make up classes are offered.

Please enter an email address for the participant who is taking the course. If your email is the same as your child’s there will be issues getting into the program and getting the certificates.


NO REFUNDS will be given within 10 days of the course start date. The participant can be transferred to a future Lifeguarding Class scheduled at one of our YMCA Branches or receive YMCA  Account Credit that can be used toward any payment made to the YMCA in the future.

All Classes will be Friday, Saturday, Sunday at the following times:

Friday from 5-9pm

Saturday from 7am-4:30pm

Sunday from 7am-3pm
