East Parking Lot Closure

The East Y parking lot is being replaced!

This project is a huge upgrade but will cause short-term inconveniences as it is a job that cannot happen in stages. The parking lot and front driveway are scheduled to be closed starting Monday, May 4.

  • East users are strongly encouraged to utilize the Sun Prairie and West branches during the lot closure. Use the “Schedules” drop-down menu on our home page to see all pool, gym, class and child watch schedules.

  • As the project progresses and new information becomes available, we will share updates on this page, via notifications for Y mobile app users on the East Y Facebook page.

UPDATES

5/8/26 | Lots of progress in the reinforcement and packing process! Fingers crossed for good weather, we could see paving begin Tuesday or Wednesday!

 

5/6/26 | The “dump truck roll test” is complete! This step in the replacement process identified areas needing additional reinforcement and packing, which are now being mapped out by our crew, so it may appear that nothing is happening (don’t worry, it is!). Weather permitting, we hope to see paving next week!

5/5/26 | And we’re underway!

FACILITY AND CHILD CARE ACCESS

  • All patrons should enter and exit the Y using the northern-most sidewalk from Claire St. and going through the main doors facing Claire. Follow the arrows on the map below.

  • The rear child care entrance/exit will be closed at all times. Morning drop-off is outside the main doors facing Claire St. Pull up, and staff wearing reflective vests will be present to help. For pick-up, please park in the neighborhood, and enter through the main doors.

PARKING

  • Please park on neighborhood streets in allowed areas. Do not park at neighboring businesses, or you may be ticketed/towed.

  • Some neighborhood streets have parking restrictions (noted on the map below). Pay attention to signage or you may be ticketed/towed for parking in restricted areas.
