Programming for Everybody. And Any Body.
The MX4 Training System is located at our East YMCA.
Cardio, power, strength and endurance ... the MX4 Training System merges cutting-edge equipment (the Connexus Functional Trainer) with unique, functional training movements to deliver a superior exercise experience. We offer two types of MX4 programming:
MX4 Unlimited is an ongoing program focused on individual fitness progression and flexible enough to accommodate participants from across the fitness spectrum. Multiple sessions are available each day, and participants will be able to reserve space as each session has a capacity of eight (8).
MX4 Active is designed to help older and health-seeking adults keep doing the things they love. Classes meet two times per week for four weeks.
MX4 Unlimited sessions are 30 mintues and MX4 Active classes are 45 mintues.
All MX4 programming is led by one of our certified personal trainers.
Our MX4 programming is designed to be flexible and adaptable to a variety of fitness levels. If you're looking for a new challenge and the fitness program that's customizable to YOU, take a look at MX4!
Try it! Free demo classes held the first Saturday of every month at 9 am. Reserve your spot at the East membership desk.
What is MX4?
What is MX4 Unlimited?
MX4 Unlimited small group training combines a variety of unique training tools including a functional training system, a self-powered treadmill (S Drive), a rower, an upper-body cycle and much more to help everyone from beginners to elite athletes maximize their results. Diverse, progressive workouts keep sessions fresh and engaging while helping members improve every aspect of their fitness. Each class is limited to eight participants, and participants will be able to reserve their spots in advance. Members can count on plenty of one-on-one time with a trainer to help tailor the program and exercises to their ability levels and goals. Ultimately, this blend of equipment, programming and personnel will help participants take advantage of the benefits of personal training services in a focused, group environment.
What is MX4 Active?
MX4 Active is a 30-minute small group training program that uses the same equipment and class format as MX4 with modified movement patterns. MX4 Active programming addresses stability, functional strength, flexibility and cardiovascular health in a way that helps older and health-seeking adults keep doing the things they love. Sessions are designed for up to eight participants.
Do I need to be in good shape for MX4?
No. One of the common misconceptions of MX4 small group training is that it is only for elite-level athletes. In reality, the MX4 community is comprised of competitive athletes, former athletes, working professionals and many people that are not regular gym users. Whatever your fitness situation, MX4 can put you on a path to the best physical and emotional shape of your life.
Do I need prior experience to enroll?
No. The great thing about MX4 is that the exercises are based on movements you already do in everyday life such as walking, running, cycling, squatting, pushing and pulling. All of the exercises can be modified for anyone from beginners to elite athletes.
What can I expect to learn in MX4 programs?
The beauty of MX4 is that not only do you get a great workout, you also learn techniques to apply in the gym or your daily grind. Train with MX4 for a month or for a year; you’ll always learn something new, and you’ll always be able to put your expanded movement skills into practice.
How do I get started?
Register online at www.ymcadane.org/register or at our member service desk.
How do I reserve a spot in class?
Since classes are limited to eight, we recommend that participants reserve a spot ahead of time. Make reservations at the East YMCA membership desk up to a month in advance; just fill in your name for the date and time that you will attend. Participants can also call 608-906-8691 to reserve spaces.
Can I try a class before I register?
Yes! If you’re not sure MX4 is for you, check out our free trial class on the first Saturday of every month at 9 am.
Can I start classes at any time?
Because of the progression of the workouts, we recommend beginning your MX4 Unlimited experience within the first two weeks of the month. MX4 Active is offered monthly.
Is there an additional cost for MX4?
Yes. MX4 methods differ from typical strength and conditioning or bootcamp workouts in many ways, and you pay for result-driven training from our experienced instructors. Plus, we limit class sizes to eight people, enabling more one-on-one coaching.
- MX4 Unlimited (available to members only) is $60 per month. Online payment will reflect your first full month of MX4 Unlimited; future monthly payments will be added to your monthly membership dues.
- MX4 Active is a monthly class available to members for $40 per session and non-members for $80 per session. The class meets twice a week for four weeks at a time; participants can sign up for one session or many!
If I enroll in MX4 Unlimited, can I drop into MX4 Active classes?
We love that enthusiasm, but the two programs are not interchangeable. You are welcome to register for both and enjoy the benefits each has to offer.
What if I have to cancel my MX4 registration? How do I do that?
We hate to see you go, but we understand that you may have to cancel your registration for a month or two. Please contact Mary Menzel: email@example.com or Sharon Baldwin: firstname.lastname@example.org by the 25th of the month and we will stop payment and send you an e-mail confirmation.
Who should I contact with questions?
Mary Menzel is available to help in any way; contact her at 608 906 8668 or email@example.com.
